BIOGRAPHY

P rof. Dragan Primorac, M.D., Ph.D., is a pediatric medical doctor, forensic science expert, forensic expert witness, and former Minister of Science, Education and Sports of the Republic of Croatia (2003-2009). According to the International Republican Institute survey of October 1, 2007, he was rated as the most successful minister in the Croatian Government with 31% approval rate. Currently, he is Adjunct Professor at Penn State University and University of New Haven as well as Professor of pediatrics and forensic sciences at Split and Osijek University.

He has received 20 domestic and international awards, including the Lifetime Achievement Award by the University of New Haven Forensic Science Institute, New Haven, USA for contribution to the development of forensic sciences. He has published extensively in the fields of forensic science, molecular genetics, science and education etc. Hi is the author of 150 scientific publications and scientific abstracts, of which more than 50 are cited in the Current Contents (CC) and Science Citation Index (SCI) databases. Until now he has been cited more then 1400 times. As an invited speaker he participated in more than 40 conferences all around the world.

Prof. Primorac is one of the pioneers in DNA identification of human remains from mass graves. Also, he is co-founder of International Society for Applied Biological (ISABS), ia non-profit organization founded to promote, enhance and extend research, development and education.

He is the President of Croatian-Israeli Business Club. Prof. Primorac has participated in numerous humanitarian activities all around the world and currently he is president of nonprofit Charitable Foundation “Cro Unum”.
